We continue to rely on our many sponsors and on fundraising activities to support the Gaitherin.

The Gaitherin teamed up with a number of other local charities in Inverurie and runs a thrift shop.

There are many sponsors of the Gaitherin but to mention two - we must thank Aberdeenshire Education and Recreation Service and Mr Joe Leonard in Inverurie.

AND OF COURSE DONATIONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!

Gaitherin Needs

Success is wonderful, but it brings its own challenges.

We know we need to raise awareness of the Gaitherin among the business community of the North East of Scotland.

We also need to raise funds to ensure an adequate provision of tutors, musical instruments and other services which will contribute to the future development and smooth running of the Gaitherin.

We have some specific funding needs:

  • Catering

  • Development worker costs

  • Leisure activity tutors

  • Materials for music tuition

  • Materials for leisure activities

  • Musical instruments

  • Music tutors

  • Residential staff

  • Transport

By giving the Gordon Gaitherin your support, you’ll be ensuring the continuation of the rich musical heritage of this very distinctive part of Scotland.

Our young people are our future.

They are the torchbearers who will carry the music and language of the North East of Scotland into the next millennium.

Your support will help them learn about their cultural birthright in a fascinating and fun way from committed and gifted tutors.

It will also enable these same tutors to pass on their musical skills and enthusiasm to the next generation.

So, if you can - PLEASE help.
